Michael Patrick Mullen, of Dorchester passed away August 29 after a long illness. Beloved son of the late Raymond T. Mullen and Nellie Mullen Bonspille. Loving father of Katylee Mullen and her partner Dave Micciche of Florence, SC and his son Mathew Mullen and his wife Katie of Abington; grandfather of his beloved grandson John Patrick; brother of Barry J. Mullen of Dorchester, Maureen Townsend of Quincy, and the late Noelene Drake, Kathleen Donovan, Marc Mullen, Eileen Perry. He was also had many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews whom he loved very much. Mike served honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Guam ( LPH-9). He served from 1973- 1976. He was very proud to have been able to serve his country. He was also employed by local companies such as Aroura Casket company, Zildjian cymbal and Hi-Fi pizza. The best years in his life where 1984 and 1987 when his children were born. He loved his children more than anything in the world. He was the best father a child could have asked for. He not only cared for his children he also helped many nieces and nephews. When Mike started to get sick, he joined a program called the Elder Service Plan (PACE program) where he made many great friends. Mike attended Christ the King Dorchester for many years. He made many, many close friends there. He had a biG heart and it really shined in the church. Unfortunately Mike had to stop going due to his illnesses, but still tried to stay in touch with church members. Mike always wanted to be a grandfather. On 9-2-19 his dream came true when his son and daughter in-law welcomed their son John Patrick Mullen(JP). He was the happiest Grampy in the world. He loved his grandson with everything he had. Friends and Family are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday September 2nd from 3:00 to 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. A brief service will follow at 6:00PM. |
