Jorgji Baze

Jorgji Baze of Quincy passed away on January 14, 2021 at age 92. Born in Korca Albania on December 4, 1928, Jorgji spent the last 20 years of his life here in America.

After graduating from Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Tirana in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in physics, he worked as a math and physics teacher, and school principal in different schools throughout Albania over a career of 34 years in education.
His interests outside of work were his family, music, and cinematography. He authored 13 books discussing subjects from theology to philosophy. An avid musician whose favorite instrument was the guitar, he composed many songs and poems.

Jorgji’s life centered around his family, his wife of 60 years Joana, and daughter Maria. His two granddaughters Joana and Kristiana were for him, a source of endless joy. Jorgji will be missed dearly by many who had the opportunity to make his acquaintance. He was truly an unforgettable human being. He was Our Treasure!

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, January 19 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a Funeral Service at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Albanian Orthodox Church 245 D St., South Boston. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
