Helen L. (Maginnis) Riley of Quincy, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022. Helen was raised in South Boston where she attended Gate Heaven for 12 years, graduating in 1956. Helen worked as an Associate Office Clerk for Putnam Investments until her retirement. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed reading, playing board games and cards. She loved watching Jeopardy. Her family was very important to her and she considered that to be her greatest legacy. Helen was the loving mother of Kathleen M. McDonald and her husband Robert of Quincy, Donna L. Pringle and her husband Dana of Quincy, Mary-Beth Smith and her husband Daniel of Weymouth, Frank G. Riley III and his wife Jennifer of Braintree, Paula A. Doroni and her husband Steven of Braintree, Timothy P. Riley and his wife Amy of Attleboro and Erin P. Riley of Weymouth. Helen is survived by 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Helen was the daughter of the late Roderick Maginnis and Mary (Cronin) Maginnis. She was the beloved sister of Charles Maginnis of Fircrest, WA, Mary Cassino of South Boston, Jeanne Lavey of Braintree, Dennis Maginnis of South Boston, the late Paul, Rick and Jack Maginnis. Helen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Wednesday, January 26th from 4:00PM-8:00PM. On Thursday, there will be a gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John’s Church, Quincy. Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. |
