Martha E. Powers

Martha Eileen Powers, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt of Templeton passed away on December 19, 2022, at the age of 62.

Martha is survived by her previous husband of thirty-seven years John Sorensen III and her four boys; John Sorensen IV and spouse Kelly of Gosport, Indiana; Christopher Sorensen of Templeton, Brian Sorensen and spouse Emily of Framingham, and Glenn Sorensen of Dudley. She is also survived by her two dear sisters Cheryl Fitzgerald of Wilmington and Helen Glennon of Georgia; and three brothers, Robert Powers of Florida, Joseph Powers of Stoughton, and Steve Powers of Abington. Martha is survived by six grandchildren; Hailey, Johnny V, Keagan, Nathaniel, Mackenzie, and Aiayana as well as many nieces and nephews.

Martha was born and raised in Quincy, Ma to parents Martha E. and Robert J. Powers who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker for nineteen years dedicated her time to raising her children and supporting her spouse. She later worked at both Shaw’s Supermarket for over a decade and The Paper Store for numerous years. She enjoyed spending her spare time at the beach laying on the warm sand while soaking in the sun and watching the rolling waves crashing in. Her fond memories were bingo nights and family gatherings. She will be remembered for the love and affection she provided to her family and friends over the course of her life.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, December 29th from 1:00PM-3:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. At 3:00PM there will be a service in the funeral home.
