Angelina M. (Mignosa) La Ferla of Quincy passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at age 82. Born in Boston where she was raised and educated, she lived in Medford before moving to Quincy in 1973. An educator in the Quincy Public Schools, Angelina received an Associate’s degree from Quincy Junior College and later took classes at UMass Boston earning a certificate in Gerontology. An avid reader, she was a loyal patron at the Thomas Crane Public Library. For many years, Angelina served as an officer of the Quincy Catholic Club and was an active participant in the Quincy Historical Society. The beloved wife of the late Gaetano La Ferla, Angelina was the loving mother of Dr. Vivian La Ferla of Providence, RI; Lydia La Ferla (Sensenbrenner) of Bethesda, MD; Robert La Ferla of Westford, MA, and beloved grandmother of Alicia and Steven Morgan; Adriana, Nicolas and Jean-Luc Sensenbrenner, and Leonardo La Ferla; dear sibling of six — the late Frances Morello and Rose LaMattina and late Charles, Sebastian and Joseph Mignosa; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 26 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery in Quincy.
