Bernard P. Lucier of Quincy and Bridgewater, passed away at Boston Medical Center on Monday, June 14, 2010 at age 90. Born in Quincy where he was raised and educated, he was a resident for 88 years. A WWII Army veteran, he worked for JD Shea Explosives, then for Antonelli Iron Works until retiring, and then for Almquist Flowers. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. The beloved husband of the late Alice M. (Carson) Lucier, Bernard was the loving father of Claire M. Lynch and her husband Jack of Bridgewater, Carol Lane of Mansfield, Peter W. Lucier and his wife Sandra of Plymouth, Richard Lucier and his wife Joanne of Brockton and Brenda Coyne and her husband Lou of Freetown; brother of John Lucier of Rockland and Alice E. Caobelli of Quincy and the late Joe and Paul Lucier and Miriam Doyle; longtime companion and dear friend of Nellie Dryer of Quincy. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 18 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. W. Quincy.
