Lawrence Marchetti

Lawrence “Larry” Marchetti of Quincy passed away at home on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at age 97. A lifelong Quincy resident, he owned and operated Point Oil Company in Quincy Point for over 40 years. An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed swimming at the beach and with his late wife Marian (Tropea) at the Sheraton Tara Swim Club where they were members. He and Marian had been married for 60 years when she passed away in 2002.

Larry is survived by many nieces and nephews , including Rose Farrell and her husband William of Braintree and Maureen Ruggere and her husband Paul of Bridgewater. He was the brother of the late Joseph Marchetti, Victor Marchetti, Frances Costello and Catherine Lomano.

A Funeral Service wll be conducted at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Saturday, September 12 at 10:30 am preceded by a visiting hour starting at 9:00am . Family and friends are invited. Burial will be at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
