Mitchell S. Miecznikowski

Mitchell S. “Mitch” Miecznikowski of Quincy passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 on his 93rd birthday. Born in Boston where he was raised and educated, he lived in Dorchester prior to moving to Quincy in 1979. A graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business School, Mitch was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston for 35 years.

The beloved husband of the late Teofila “Tillie” (Daniszewski) Miecznikowski, he was the loving father of Nancy L. Bixbee of Beverly, Judy M. Higgins and her husband Michael of Quincy and Margie I. Hurley and her husband Brian of Weymouth; dear grandfather of Brian, Michael and Emma Bixbee, Rachel Higgins, Nicholas, Lucas and Caroline Hurley; beloved brother of Virginia Jordan of Santa Barbara, CA and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 10 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00Am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 655 Dorchester Ave. So. Boston. Burial is at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
