Thomas Nigro, Jr., a lifelong Quincy resident, passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at age 87. The beloved husband of Jennie P. (Lopresti) Nigro, Tom was the loving father of Thomas D. Nigro and his wife Patricia (Mezzetti), Joan Van Bibber and her husband Ronald and Marilyn DiBona; grandfather of 8, great grandfather of 23 and great great grandfather of 1; beloved brother of Francis A. Nigro; brother-in-law of Charles Lopresti and his wife Mary (Kelly) . He was predeceased by his son-in-law Kenneth Di Bona; his siblings Charles, William, Frank, Emil and Salvatore Nigro, Peter Molinaro, Mary Mariano, Ann Fuller, Lena Pica, Jennie E. Nigro, Julia Hanson, Mary Moscone and Elizabeth Carin; sister-in-law Frances R. (Lopresti) Bresnahan and brother-in-law Lt. John Lopresti (WWII). He is also survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 26 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00am. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. |
