Henry Ortiz of Quincy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at age 84. A lifelong Quincy resident, where he was raised and educated, he was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War and in Europe after the end of WWII. Henry was a longtime worker at Boston Gear Works. An animal lover, he was fond of his cats, enjoyed reading and watching the New England sports teams on TV. The beloved son of the late Michael and Bella (Heaney) Ortiz, Henry was the loving brother of John W. Ortiz of Weymouth, Amelia Stearns of Rockland and the late Lawrence Ortiz of Quincy and is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 13 from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial is private.
