Phung Phan of Quincy passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at age 88. Born in Phat Diem, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam where he was raised and educated, he emigrated to America with his family in the late 1970’s. With a degree in business administration, he worked for the state as an accounting clerk. The beloved husband of the late Loan Kim Vu, Mr. Phan was the loving father of Thanh Phan of Quincy, Thang Phan of Rockland, Thinh Phan and Mai Phan, both of Dorchester, Lien Phan of Washington, Van Phan of California, Phuong Phan and Nhu Phan, both of Oregon; and is also survived by many grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 11 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy Point. Burial is at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in Mr. Phan’s memory may be made to the Building Fund at St. Joseph’s Church where he was a parishioner for over 20 years. |
