Brian W. Picard of Quincy passed away with his family at his side on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at age 55. A lifelong Quincy resident, he graduated from Quincy High School and was a longtime member of the International Longshoremen’s Association, Local 800. Brian was a gregarious person and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a strong and compassionate man with a great sense of humor and amazingly befriended people at every opportunity. He enjoyed travel, was an avid gardener and gourmet cook and especially loved the time he spent with family and friends. The devoted companion and lifetime partner of Judy Devlin, Brian was the loving father of Christina Devlin of Quincy: beloved son of Mary E. (Tirrell) Picard of Quincy and the late Robert F. Picard; dear brother of Linda M. Picard of N. Quincy, Mary N. Picard Reilly and her husband Peter E. Reilly of Rye, NH, John P. Picard of Quincy and the late Joseph and David Picard; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. On Sunday, October 21 there will be a visiting hour starting at 12:00 noon, at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center, followed by a Memorial Service and Celebration of Brian’s Life at 1:00PM. Family and friends are invited. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. |
