Leonard F. “Lenny” Savoie of Quincy passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at age 87. A lifelong resident of Quincy, he was a WWII Army veteran and worked as a stage builder and carpenter at the Fore River Shipyard before retiring. The beloved husband of Esther (Bersani)Savoie, Lenny was the loving father of Michael Savoie and his wife Shirley of Brockton, Gary Savoie and his wife Janine of Randolph, Cheyl Berlo of Quincy and the late William J. Savoie; dear grandfather of Michael Savoie of Brockton, Kerrie Savoie and Joseph Berlo, both of Quincy; great grandfather of Justin and Natalia; brother of Margaret Stratton of Braintree, William Savoie of Baltimore, Ann Casanova and Mary Welch, both of Hingham, the late Robert, Leo, Joseph, Ed, Richard and James Savoie and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, February 24 from 10:00 to 11:00am, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center.
