John Joseph “Sully” Sullivan, 83, died surrounded by family in Alexandria, Virginia on October 5, 2009, joining his beloved son John Michael in heaven. A lifelong resident of Houghs Neck, he was a career railroad man and an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Carew Sullivan of Alexandria, VA; his daughter Ann Marie Henshaw and son-in-law Robert Henshaw and “his big three” grandchildren Katie, Michael and Abigail Henshaw all of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by his dear cousin, Terry Phelan of Quincy and his adored nephew, James Patrick Agres, of Weymouth.Visiting hours will be held at Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm Street in Quincy Center on Thursday, October 8 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10am.
