Irene Brenda (O'Brien) Villard

Irene Brenda (O’Brien) Villard of Quincy died at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July, 28, 2009. Born and raised in Quincy, Mrs. Villard was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth and was a member of St. John’s Mothers Club and Altar Guild, as well as a former prefect of the Ladies Sodality. For 20 years, Mrs. Villard enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Southern CA, Las Vegas, AZ, Walt Disney World, New Orleans, the Southeast US and Caribbean cruises. In later years she found enjoyment in day trips to Mohegan Sun. Mrs. Villard embraced her Irish roots with her love of Irish Music on the radio every weekend, never tiring of her favorite singer, Daniel O’Donnell. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

The beloved wife for 57 years of Vincent J. Villard, she is also survived by her two daughters, Eleanor O. and BrendaMarie Villard of Quincy, her dear friends, Frances Davidson of Nashua, NH and Cynthia Green of Squantum, along with several cousins. Mrs. Villard was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Eleanor O”Brien and sister of the late Eleanor Marie O’Brien.

A visiting hour will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Friday, July 31 from 10:00 to 11:00am. Family and friends are invited. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00am Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery
