Edith L. Volpe

Edith L. Volpe of Quincy passed away at Hancock Park Nursing Home on Friday, July 20, 2012 at age 97. A lifelong Quincy resident, she had worked for 30 years as a secretary in the personnel dept. of Proctor & Gamble’s Sales Office in Boston. Edith was also an officer of the Rice Eventide Auxiliary, on the staff of the Quincy Historical Society Register and served as a notary public. Predeceased by her 5 siblings, Mary Berini, John E. Volpe, Corinne A. Volpe, Dominic C. Volpe and Matilda T. Volpe, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, July 25 starting at 9:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. W. Quincy. Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
