Bernard “Bud” “Mac” MacDonald of Quincy passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at age 92. Born in PEI, Canada, he was raised and educated in Brighton. A WWII Army veteran, Bud was the personal mechanic for Gen. Patton. He moved to Quincy in 1952 and worked as a truck driver in the Teamsters Union Local 25. The beloved husband of Mildred (Duncan) MacDonald, Bud was the loving father of Charles MacDonald of Quincy, Marsha MacDonald of Duxbury, Robert West and his wife Jane of Nokomis, FL, Patrice McGinty and her husband Edward of Duxbury, Kathleen F. Gomez and her husband John of Chiefland, FL and the late Cpl. Raymond John West who was killed in action in Vietnam 12/13/1968, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star; brother of John MacDonald of Marlborough; close companion of Eunice Conley; and is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 19 from 4:00 to 7:00PM with a Funeral Service immediately following at 7PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center.
