Barbara A. (Grealish) Burns of Quincy passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at age 75. A Quincy resident since 1996, she was raised and educated in Mission Hill and lived most of her life in Dorchester. A homemaker, Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Leo F. Burns, Jr.; devoted mother of Jack Burns of Weymouth, Leo Burns of Quincy, Lisa MacKenzie of Quincy and Michael Burns of New York; dear grandmother of Christopher, Torrey, Ryan, Casey and Leo Burns and Kevin, Jordan and Jillian MacKenzie; great-grandmother of Christopher A. Burns; loving sister of Jack and Marilyn Grealish of Burlington, Matthew Grealish, Michael and Kathleen Grealish and Helen Sylva, all of Braintree and the late Anna Odegard, Mary Sutton, Thomas Grealish and Coleman Grealish; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 8 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Mark’s Church 1725 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester.
