Alice A. Lahey, of Quincy and Colony House Nursing Home in Abington, passed away on Thursday, October 30 at age 101. During WWII Miss Lahey worked in the IBM Room at the Fore River Shipyard and worked at the Registry of Motor Vehicles for many years before retiring. A longtime communicant St. Joseph’s Church and a member of its Ladies Sodality, she also belonged the Ward 2 Civic Association and enjoyed traveling, knitting and reciting poetry. The daughter of the late John M. and Katherine M Lahey, Alice was the loving sister of the late William, Katherine, Joan and Marguerite Lahey and Marion Pendelton; aunt of Joan Cornell and her husband Glenn of Whitman and the late James Pendelton of Florida and is also survived by several great nieces and nephews Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4 from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church 550 Washington t. Quincy Point. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery. |
