Ramsey (Ameen) Hassan

Ramsey (Ameen) Hassan passed away on November 28, 2014 at Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Weymouth, MA. Born in Quincy on January 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Mohammed and Miriam Ameen. Ramsey married Joseph Hassan on March 23, 1935, a marriage that lasted for 56 years, until Joseph passed away in 1991. For many years she belonged to Eastern Star and was very active in the volunteer activities of that organization. She worked for many years as a secretary at her husband’s automobile dealership and as a teacher’s assistant in the Weymouth Public School System. Ramsey enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful cook, specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine.

She was the loving mother of Elizabeth Hassan of Kansas City, MO, J. D. Ramsey  of Los Angeles, CA,  B. Ramzieh Hassan of Cambridge, MA and the late Miriam Hassan; dear grandmother of David Hassan; beloved sister of Michael Ameen, Samuel Ameen and wife Camille, Betty deHaas,  Lillian Lowery and the late Joseph Ameen,  Sarah Abraham, Ann Noyes. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on held on Tuesday, December 2, from 12:00 to 1:00PM followed by service at 1:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center  Interment  at Wollaston Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the many who helped care for her during her last few months.
