Robert J. Burns

Robert J. Burns of Quincy passed away on Friday January 2, 2015 at age 70. A Vietnam veteran, US Navy and self-employed painter, he was born in Boston where he was raised and educated and lived in the North End and Charlestown before moving to Quincy 8 years ago. The son of the late Claire (Paull) and Leo F. Burns, Sr., Robert was the father of Leah Victoria Hennessey of Manhattan, NY; brother of Claire McAulliffe and her husband Kevin of Wareham, Kevin Burns and his wife Susan of Braintree, Gary Burns of Randolph and the late Leo F. Burns, Jr., Raymond J. Burns and Joseph W. Burns He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was a friend of Bill W.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 6 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors will be at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45PM.
