Ellen M. (Syvertsen) Gorry

Ellen M. (Syvertsen) Gorry of Quincy passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at age 95. Born in Norway, she was raised and educated in Long Island, NY and lived in Quincy for 51 years, 22 of those years as an active member at 1000 Southern Artery. She worked for 20 years as an electronics technician for Sigma Instruments, retiring in 1984. Ellen was the much loved and loving mother of Bonita Canfield of Weymouth, Kathleen Osborne of AZ, Nancy Gurney of Quincy, Frank Gorry of SC, Susan Bottary of Newton and the late Laurie Meuse of Tewsksbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her dear friends, Heather Shattuck Kamborian, Kathy Krause, Colleen O’Connell and Kate Whooley.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 11 from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a Funeral Service at Quincy Point Congregational Church 444 Washington St. Quincy at 11:00AM. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
