Anna M. (Gilmore) Lyons of Quincy passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at age 95. A lifelong Quincy resident, she worked for 18 years as a clerk at the Fore River Shipyard and several years as a secretary for Atty. Tom Williams. She was active in St. Joseph’s Parish where she was a member of the school’s first graduating class and a member and Past Prefect of the Ladies’ Sodality. The beloved wife of the late John S. Lyons, Anna was the loving mother of Mary Anne Spano and her husband Thomas of Braintree; dear grandmother of Christina A. Vella and her husband John of Braintree and Thomas J. Spano, Jr. of Quincy; great-grandmother of Joseph, Alexander, Thomas, JT, Gianna and Anthony; sister of the late Barbara Walsh, Dorothy Hart and Richard Gilmore; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 17 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy Point. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
