Virginia T. DelGizzi

Virginia Del Gizzi died peacefully in her home on August 11, at the age of 91.  She was the devoted daughter of Anthony and Nicolina Del Gizzi of Quincy.  She survived by her brother Daniel Del Gizzi of Braintree, several nieces and nephews and many grand and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Louis J., Henry and A. Charles Del Gizzi.
Virginia was born and raised in Quincy, graduated from Quincy High School and was employed for many years as a secretary at Bethlehem Steel Co. and General Dynamics of Quincy.  She retired from Haemonetics of Braintree.  After her retirement, she gave all her attention to caring for her mother.  She loved social gatherings and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, exchanging news, listening to and sharing stories. She was always referred to as the family historian. She liked to stay up to date on current events and was an avid sports fan, particularly the New England Patriots.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 17 from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
