Maurice M. “Moss” Houlihan of Hough’s Neck passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at age 44. A lifelong Quincy resident, he was a 20-year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 17 and had worked for Gilbert & Becker of Boston for many years. A proud member of the Quincy Yacht Club, Moss enjoyed pick-up softball and basketball games with his friends and played golf, especially if it was for a charity event. The beloved son of Maurice J. Houlihan, a retired member of Iron Workers Union Local 7, and Mary (Doyle) Houlihan of Quincy, he was the devoted brother of Sean P. Houlihan, Local 17, of Quincy, Kathleen M. Duddy and her husband Brian of Duxbury, Thomas J. Houlihan of Quincy and James D. Houlihan, Local 550, also of Quincy. He is also survived by his 3 dear nieces, Sarah Houlihan, Madison Duddy and Kyleigh Duddy. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 15 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1017 Sea St. Quincy.
