Agnes B. (Blackshaw) Gates

Agnes Blackshaw Gates , a longtime Milton resident, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at age 97. Born in Rutherglen, Scotland she was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain. The beloved wife of the late Alfred S. Gates, Jr., Agnes was the loving mother of the late Judith Lee Gates; dear sister of Martha B. Catten of South Yarmouth and the late Jean B. Tootell, Eleanor B. Smouse; beloved aunt of Kenneth Tootell of Brewster, David Catten of East Sandwich, Janet Garner of Virginia Beach, VA, Cathy Kilcoyne of Alexandria, VA and Nancy Reyburn of South Sandwich. The family would like to thank Maggie and Michael Radley and their children for their care of Auntie Agnes who was affectionately known to them as Grammy.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 26 in Dennis, MA.
