Brownie J. Wielgosz died on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at age 92. Born in Secretary, MD on January 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Brauneslaus and Mary Wielgosz; father of Michael, Patrick and Dennis Wielgosz and Ann Breiden; brother of the late Martha; uncle of Bonnie Bachand and Jimmy Jacobs of Florida; grand-uncle of Justin Bachand and his wife Rachel and great-grand-uncle of Alex, all of Florida. During WWII, he served four years in the Navy aboard and LST ship in the Pacific Theater. On returning to Maryland, he married Jean Ann Gott and raised his family. He worked for 30 years at a local Airpax plant as a plant engineer, retiring in 1988. After divorcing, Brownie moved to Florida where he met Helen O’Brien, from Boston. For 22 years, they danced and traveled, visiting England, Ireland, Germany and many places in the US, with their winters spent in Florida. They moved to 1000 Southern Artery in Quincy Point where they lived until Helen’s death four years ago. Brownie then went to the Eventide Home where he enjoyed his last years. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August2 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
