On October 29th Captain David Levangie sailed off on his final adventure. David had a lifelong love of the sea, traveling world-wide as a USCG Master Captain. He was proud of his service with the US Coast Guard and his decades of service in the Quincy Fire Department. He owned and operated Harvey’s Wharf in Houghs Neck from 1988 to 2002. The son of the late Frederick and Mary Levangie, David leaves behind his wife Teri (Maureen) Boyd, his children, Michelle Johnson (husband Marshall) and Michael Staff. He was pre-deceased by his son, David. He also leaves behind his five wonderful siblings, Richard, Janet, Donald, Carol and Beverly, his grandchildren, Chris, Seth, Nicole, Hailey and Mikey and two great grandchildren, Juliette and Daniel. He will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00AM on Thursday, November 2nd at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1015 Sea St. Quincy. A reception will follow at Quincy Yacht Club. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers donations in David’s memory may be made to the Firefighters Relief Fund c/o Quincy Fire Department 40 Quincy Ave. Quincy MA 02169. |
