Franklin P. “Frank” McLaughlin of Hanson, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at age 85. Born in Boston where he was raised and educated, he lived in Quincy for many years and moved to Hanson in 1991. A Korean War Veteran US Air Force, Frank worked for the City of Quincy for 40 years as the General Foreman for the Forestry Department. The beloved husband of Mary (Nigro) McLaughlin to whom he was married for 60 years, Frank was the loving father of Frank P. McLaughlin and his wife Robin of Hanover, Daniel W. McLaughlin of Hanson, Jeannine M. McLaughlin of Hanson and Julie A. McLaughlin of Weymouth; dear grandfather of Juliette, Jacqueline, Jeffrey, Lia and Landon; beloved brother of John McLaughlin and his wife Carol of Medford, Lance McLaughlin of Ohio and the late William and Patricia McLaughlin; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery. |
