A. Jaye (Prendergast) Cotter of Quincy passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at age 93. Raised and educated in Boston, a proud graduate of Cathedral High, she lived in Quincy for 63 years. After returning to school once her children were grown, she earned two Master’s Degrees and taught in the Boston Public School system. She was a member of Alanon and volunteered with Swim With a Special Child, Reading Roundup at the Adams Shore Public Library.

The beloved wife of the late Bernard P. “Pat” Cotter, A. Jaye was the loving mother of Michael F. Cotter and his wife Cynthia Roche-Cotter of Quincy, Kevin P. Cotter of Quincy, Bernard P. “Rick” Cotter and his wife Claire of Hingham, Mary M. Cotter-Kelly and her husband Thomas of Quincy and the late William J. Cotter; sister of the late Ann Ingraham, Kay Flynn and Alice Wynn; and is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Kenney-Cotter of Quincy; her grandchildren, Joe Cotter and his wife Christine, Patrick Cotter, Jessica Fisler and her husband Dustin, Alisa Billbe and her husband Brayden, Kate Poles and her husband Joseph Lisa Hart and her husband Brenden and Shawn Kelly; her great-grandchildren, Will, Elizabeth, John, Mary Kate, Torin, Joseph and Baby Hart; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hour which will be held on Wednesday, June 6th from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1015 Sea St. Quincy. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.

The Cotter family is grateful for the loving care provided by the Irish Connection, and the entire staff of Hancock Park and Seasons Hospice. Donations in A. Jaye’s memory may be made to the Assisted Living Activities Fund at Hancock Park 164 Parkingway, Quincy, MA 02169 or Holy Trinity Parish.
