Albert E. “Al” Pizzi of Braintree passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the of age 82. Born in Quincy where he was raised and educated, he graduated from Quincy High School where he excelled in football and basketball. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he worked as a machinist at General Dynamics for 30 years, then as a model maker for the US Army Watertown Arsenal before retiring. An active member of the South Shore YMCA, he was a dedicated sports fan (especially the Pats) and an avid gardener. Al’s most precious moments were spent cooking out with his family and hanging by the pool.

The beloved husband of Linda L. (Cappellini) Pizzi for 58 years, Al was the loving father of Gary Pizzi and his wife Joanie of Hanover, Gayle Laing and her husband Robert of Braintree, Laura Demeo of Braintree and Jeff Pizzi and his wife Shannon of Pembroke; brother of Gloria Marini of Quincy, John Pizzi of Hanover, Louise Price of VA and the late Frank Pizzi of Braintree and Richard Pizzi of Easton He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and is also survived by his beloved dog, Rosie.

Private services have been held.
