Alfred M. Volpini of W. Quincy passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at age 83. Born in E. Boston where he was raised and educated, he was a Korean War veteran and worked as a structural engineer for Metcalf & Eddy for 20 years before retiring. The beloved husband of the late Leona (Marino) Volpini, Al was the loving father of Gloria Rugg and her husband Philip of Quincy, Robert Volpini and his wife Deborah of Foxboro and the late Paul Volpini; dear grandfather of Robert, Matthew, Victoria and Michael and great grandfather of Anthony.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 20 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
