Obituaries

Alice M. (Tarr) Tarrant of Quincy passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at age 83. A lifelong Quincy resident, she was an insurance consultant for Kemper Insurance before retiring and had worked as a waitress and function hostess for Dora Ferguson Catering.

The beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Tarrant, Alice was the loving mother of Linda Sullivan and her husband Thomas Synan of Quincy, Kenneth W. Tarrant, Jr. and his wife Janie of VA, David M. Tarrant and his wife Stacey of Quincy and Laura J. Horgan of VA; dear grandmother of Eileen, Beth, Betsy, Kenny, Keith, Amy, Brenda, Linda Frances and Leighann; and is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 6 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Church, 44 School St. Quincy. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, W. Quincy.
