Alice T. (McCarthy) Patterson of Quincy passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at age 84. Originally from Dorchester where she was raised and educated, she lived in Quincy for the past 15 years. Alice was a Navy veteran of the Korean War where she served as a Lieutenant in the Nurses Corps. A graduate of St, Margaret’s Hospital Nursing School, she worked for several doctors and then at the Bostonian Nursing Home.

The loving mother of the late Frank H. Patterson, Alice was the beloved grandmother of James R. Patterson of Boston, Casey Patterson and Alexandra Patterson, both of Hopkinton; dear sister of Margaret Morehouse of Quincy and the late Elizabeth Swienton and Frances McCarthy; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 19 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy Point.

In lieu of flowers donations in Alice’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
