Obituaries

Ann Hutchinson Colby, 86, of Milton, formerly of Mashpee, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 5, 2015. A Spanish-bilingual teacher for the Boston Public Schools for 25 years, she was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Boston Teacher’s College and her Master’s Degree from Boston College. In her spare time she enjoyed travel, bridge, crossword puzzles, reading, tennis and ice skating.

The beloved wife of the late Herbert A. Stetson and Albert E. “Alan” Colby, Ann was the loving mother of Jan Stetson Dwyer and her husband William of Quincy, David J. Stetson and his wife Margie of Richmond, VA and Rick Stetson and his wife Monique of Framingham; dear grandmother of Kerry Dwyer and Zachary and Andrew Stetson. She was the last of 13 siblings having been predeceased by Adeline, Marjorie, Edward, William, Mary, Dorothea, John, Robert, Ruth, Charles, David and George, and is also survived by her dear sisters-in-law Mary Cronin Hutchinson and Dot Hutchinson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ann’s family will be holding a reception in her memory on Sunday, September 13 from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the home of her daughter Jan. Family and friends are invited.
