Barbara M. “Barbie” (Stevens) Bottari, age 66, of Quincy passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 surrounded by her family. A lifelong Quincy resident and a graduate of Quincy High, she was an active homemaker whose family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren. Barbie was proud of her vegetable garden, was an avid Bingo player and also enjoyed reading and camping. She retained her spunk right to the very end.

The loving wife of Robert J. “Bob” Bottari, she was the loving mother of Brenda Chiaradonna and her husband Anthony of E. Bridgewater, Jennifer Bottari-Cacciavillani and her husband P. Xavier of Quincy and Anthony Bottari, also of Quincy; dear grandmother of Alex Bottari and Max and Hudson Chiaradonna; beloved sister of Margaret Hannon and Eleanor Stevens, both of Quincy, George Stevens of Brockton, Delores Byrne of Braintree, Paul Stevens of Whitman and the late Lillian White; and is also survived by her dear friend Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 6 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
