Carmen “Cookie” (Gomez Garcia) Cook of Quincy passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at age 92. Born in Alcaudete, Spain where she was raised and educated, she lived in Quincy for 40 years and prior to that in Boston and NJ. She worked in South Boston for 20 years making electronics for computers. The beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Cook, Carmen was the loving mother of Rosa Pierce and her husband Ted of Carver and Mary Arruda of Brockton; step-mother of Maryjane D’Orazio; dear grandmother of Christine Pierce, Ted Pierce, Jr., Lori Pierce and Jesse Arruda; great-grandmother of Elizabeth Pierce, Tyler DeAndrade, Jenna Pierce and Sienna Pierce; and is also survived by family in Spain.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Wednesday, July 11th from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial is at MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30PM.

Due to restrictions on flowers at the cemetery, Carmen’s family’s requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452 alz.org.
