Carol A. (Vecchione) Gould of Quincy, age 66, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Raised and educated in Quincy where she lived most of her life, Carol enjoyed camping on Rainsford Island, boating, fishing, singing, reading and especially being with her family. She was an avid traveler with her husband Jay, taking many cruises and trips, especially enjoying their yearly trip to Sanibel Island, Florida.

The daughter of the late Vincent P. and Elizabeth A. Vecchione, Carol is survived by her devoted husband Jay B. Gould, her loving children, Kelly (Eden) Marcinowski and her husband Mark of Braintree, Kerry (Eden) Delahunt and her husband Steven of Hanover, Eric Gould of Dorchester and Elizabeth (Gould) Maloney of Marlboro. She was the phenomenal Grandma and Nannie of Catherine, Kendra, Matthew, Jack and Cailyn and Grandma Carol of John and his daughter Madyson. Carol was the oldest of eleven close brothers and sisters: Vinny Vecchione and his wife Teresa of Rockland, Patsy Nigro and her husband Joe of FL, Danny Vecchione and his late wife Rosie of Quincy, Donna DeVita and her husband Franny of Dorchester, Bobby Vecchione and his wife Karen, Ronny Vecchione and his wife Carolyn, Tommy Vecchione and his wife Jane, Billy Vecchione and his wife Renee, all of Quincy and the late David Vecchione and Betty Ann McCourt. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Debbie Vecchione of Weymouth, 19 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 12 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Cemation will follow.
