Catherine M. Faherty of Quincy passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at age 90. A lifelong Quincy resident and parishioner of St. John’s Church, Cathy was a graduate of St. John’s School and Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth. She worked as a customer service clerk at Mass Electric for 42 years, retiring in 1986 and was an avid Patriots fan.
The loving daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Cahill) Faherty, Cathy was the beloved sister of the late Martin, Patrick, Timothy, Simon, John, Thomas and David Faherty, loving companion of the late Howard Nourse and is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 30 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St., Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
