Obituaries

Charles E. Armstrong III, age 54, of Marshfield died at home after a long illness on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Born in San Francisco, he was raised and educated in Rockland and attended UMass and the University of AZ. After returning to MA, he lived in Rockland and Dorchester, before moving to Marshfield where he lived for 11 years. He worked for APT in Cambridge and later as Operations Manager for the TAB Newspaper.

The beloved son of Bernadette M. (White) Armstrong and the late Charles E. Armstrong, Jr., Charles was the loving brother of Philomena Armstrong of Lowell, MA, Marilyn Armstrong of River Ridge, LA, Paul Armstrong of Frederick, MD and Daniel Armstrong of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by his much loved nieces, Nicki, Ryann and Lily and nephew, Danny and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 6 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at the Church of the Resurrection, 1015 Main St. Hingham. Cremation will follow.

As Charles was a longtime supporter of the Marshfield Food Pantry 1981 Ocean St. Marshfield MA 02050, donations there may be made in his memory.
