Obituaries

Charles P. Buckley of Holbrook passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at age 80. Born in Quincy where he lived most of his life, he was a Korean War Veteran, US Air Force and had worked as an installer and lineman for New England Telephone for over 40 years. He was a member of the IBEW 222 and the Morrisette Post.

The beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Madden) Buckley, Charles was the loving father of Kathleen A. Dunn and her husband Wayne F. of Norton, Gerald F. Buckley of Quincy, Deborah Kane and her husband Steven of Middleboro, Joan L. Edmonds and her husband Timothy of Holbrook and Richard C. Buckley of Quincy; dear grandfather of Amanda Richie, Joyel McLaughlin, Meredith Hubbard, Kevin Dunn, Stephanie Kane and Rachel Kane; great-grandfather of Nicholas, Connor, Jordyn, Anthony, Ariana, Emily, Aiden and Keegan; brother of Joseph P. Buckley and his wife Sheila of Stoughton and is also survived by 2 nieces, 1 nephew and his friends Lilly and Dustin Edmonds.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 14 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. W. Quincy. Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
