Obituaries

Charles T. Donovan of Quincy passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at age 85. Raised  in W. Roxbury, he graduated from English High School, married and raised his family in Dedham, lived in N. Weymouth for many years and Quincy for a short time. After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, Charles worked as a technician for the Telephone Company for over 35 years and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and a lifetime member of the Quincy Yacht Club.

The devoted father of Susan J. White  and her husband Greg of Tucson, AZ, David C. Donovan and his wife Tonia of Eastham and Andrew C. Donovan  and his wife Rachel of Ashland, Charles was the dear brother of Joan M. Biagi and Ann H. Copponi, both of Natick and Robert E. Donovan of Marshfield and loving Papa to his 6 grandchildren, Ted, Sarah and Bill White and Zuzu, Cleo and Lauren Donovan and is also survived by his former wife Mildred J. (Geist) Donovan and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, December 4 at 10:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Burial of his ashes with Military Honors will take place at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:00PM.

Since flowers are restricted at the Nat. Cemetery please make donations in Charles’ memory to any Veteran’s charity in lieu of flowers.
