Just saw Joan Fales passed, didn't see of Penny's passing until today. Never knew her as Clara. My Mom, Shirley Wood, was also part of the bridge club. The ending of an era. I hope they are all playing bridge in heaven. Miss them all.

A Testimonial to a Loving Mother You were the quintessential LADY. It was a goal you set for yourself early in life and remained true to it always. Simply a remarkable LADY. Your beauty was far more than your appearance as it was your essence of being. I never knew anyone you met that did not Love you. Your kind and generous heart and soul was shared with all you who you encountered. You never had cross or angry words with anyone and growing up I dubbed you “Miss Switzerland” because you remained neutral in all situations. One of your fondest and favorite experiences in life was your “Bridge Club”; Joanne, Iggy, Marge, Ellen, Shirley, Margaret and Mary, the Incredible 8. The ladies you shared 60+ years with being part of each other’s lives while enjoying the art of playing bridge. You were exceptional at both the game and the close friendships you developed with each and every one of them. You all became such integral parts of each other’s lives. A lifetime of friendship and support. You were the consummate Bank Manager and you cherished working with your colleagues at Shore South Bank. Although your favorite position was being on the platform at the main office you worked diligently to become a very successful branch manager and It was one of your proudest accomplishments. There was not a dry eye in the room at your retirement party. You were so dedicated and devoted to your years of volunteering at the Quincy City Hospital Gift Shop as I remember many a time with a snowstorm looming you never let them down. I thought maybe you should stay in, but you always said, “they need me”. It was part of your dedication to commitment and giving back that was a huge part of your life. One of your proudest and major accomplishment was your being the final President of the Quincy Women’s Club which had been in existence for over 100 years. You were a devoted member for many, many years until the Clubhouse on President’s Lane closed. I remember seeing all the legal paperwork for 10+ years after that time and you telling me you had to see it through to the end, until the City and the lawyers officially dissolved the Club. Most people would have let it go, but you diligently saw it through until the end. You especially took pride and enjoyment in being part of the Halloran Family and it was a happy and supportive family that you enjoyed during your lifetime. They also, all loved you in return. And finally, “Penny” the origins of this nickname are unknown as how it came to be, but it stayed with you always and you loved it when people greeted you with it. It somehow just fit you. It was a happy name. I will cherish most your trips to Sarasota once you retired and could stay for several weeks. We had the very best times going to shops, restaurants and theaters. Enjoying time spent with each other. These loving memories will be with me forever and I will always love and miss you. God speed you on your way to Heaven. You are at Peace now. Gary

Penny? I have a special place in my heart for my great aunt Clara. She gave me extra love and attention growing up bc I was a girl! There were mostly boys in the family when I was a kid. My confirmation name was Clara - after my great aunt & her mother Clara Infante. Michael, Carol & family - Find peace in knowing she had a long healthy life, and was well cared for always.
