Clare E. (Foye) Grayken of Quincy passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Friday, May 14, 2010 at age 95. Born in Boston’s South End, where she was raised and educated, she lived in Savin Hill, then moved to Quincy 42 years ago. A homemaker, she was an avid reader, known for her great wit and wisdom and always had a positive attitude toward life even in her declining years.

The beloved wife of the late John F. Grayken, Clare was the loving mother of Jean F. Grayken of Quincy and Margaret Mary Grayken of Boston; aunt of Anne Farren of Scituate and John Grayken of Cohassett who were raised by Clare and her husband; dear friend of James I. Boyd of Quincy and sister of the late Richard A., Robert, Frederick A. and Edward Foye and is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St. Quincy. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
