Obituaries

Dennis J. Riley, 48, of Braintree passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Brigham & Womens Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.  A resident of Braintree for most of his life, Dennis spent his summers in Green Harbor and Nahant. He worked as a realtor for Success Realty where he was a top earner. Big-hearted and generous, he loved people, children and animals and enjoyed helping out anyone in need, even those he didn’t know. His church was important to him and he taught Bible classes at the New Life Christian Center in Quincy. Dennis followed the Patriots and politics, but the center of his life was his 9-year old daughter, Chloe E, Riley of E. Bridgewater.

The beloved son of Maureen Sullivan of Braintree, he was the step-son of Frank Strenk, Jr. of Saratoga, NY;  brother of Charles R. Riley of Braintree; devoted grandson of the late Mary and Dennis Sullivan of Braintree; loving fiancé of Sandy Kroposky of Moosic, PA; nephew of John Riley of Plymouth who was his Godfather; Gail Callahan of Canton who was his Godmother and the late Peter Callahan, Kathleen and Kevin Collins of Canton, and Christine and Nicholas Cortese of Milton; uncle of Charles S. Riley of E. Bridgewater and Makayla Riley of Milton; cousin of Nicholas Cortese III; and is also survived by his former wife Lilianna Riley of E. Bridgewater, his long-time friend and mentor, Pastor Kevin Mcpherson, his lifelong friend, Chris Tartaglione of Hull and a number of extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Thursday April 27 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Friday there will be a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
