Dominic Gentile of Quincy passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Friday March 4, 2011 at age 94. Born in Quincy, he was a lifelong resident and a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church where he was an usher for many years. A graduate of the Quincy Trade School, he worked in the sheet metal industry as a member of Local 17 of the Sheet Metal Workers Union.
Dominic was the beloved brother of James Uvanitte of Quincy and Louise Gagnon of Kansas and the late Jean Leo, Louis Gentile and Paul Uvanitte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 9 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church 44 School St. Quincy at 10:00am. Burial will be at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
