Dorothy A. (Edgar) Hallett of Quincy passed away in Austin, TX on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at age 83. Born in Quincy where she was raised and educated, she lived in Bermuda for 16 years and returned to Quincy after her husband’s death in 1972. Dorothy worked in sales for 7 years at Filene’s in Braintree and at a children’s specialty shop in Pembroke.

The beloved wife of the late Charles R. Hallett, she was the loving mother of John R. Hallett and his wife Annie of Austin, dear grandmother of Michael Hallett, Katie Hallett, Christopher Hallett and Meredith Hallett, all of Lynn and Michael Salazar of Colorado; devoted sister of Pauline Quinn of Jupiter FL, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 1 from 4;00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy Point. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
