On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI) we offer our sincere condolences to Frances, Carolyn (Michael), Earl Jr., Lauren (Daniel), Brian (Beverly), and all of Earl Sr.’s family and friends. God bless you with peace, comfort you, and heal your broken hearts. We are especially thankful for Earl’s service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Korean War on the USS Argonaut SS-475. To our “Brother of the Phin” we say … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country." So, heavenly Father add his name to the roll Of our departed shipmates still on patrol. Let them know that we who survive Will always keep their memories alive. Bless those who serve beneath the deep, Through lonely hours their vigil keep. May peace their mission ever be! Protect each one, we ask of Thee. Bless those at home who wait and pray For their return by night and day. Earl D. McNamara, Sr., US Navy, Now on Eternal Patrol. Fair Winds and Following Seas Shipmate His record is now posted online in the Eternal Patrol file on the USSVI website. Rev. Ray Fritz, National Chaplain United States Submarine Veterans, USSVI.

Carolyn, Lauren, Earl, Brian and Fran, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved your dad very much. I remember when Carolyn and I first became friends my dad said to me, " is her dad Earl McNamara?" I said yes. He said, "Oh that's Earl the Pearl from the Fire Department" and he went on and on about what a character and a nice guy he was. I have many fond memories spending time with all of you and your dad playing practical jokes..... Ha ha ha. I have not seen you all in quite a while but you are always in my heart. I am praying for you and I am thinking of you all during this very difficult time. Love and Peace, Nancy

Dearest A.Franny, Carolyn, Earl, Lauren and Brian: My heart aches for your sadness, yet I can't help smiling at the thought of the "brothers" together with Amie & Gramps. Lots of shenanigans for sure! will forever remember his kind eyes, warm & "full" hugs. He used to throw me up in the air and catch me and your mother would say "Earl! you're scaring her" Just made me giggle more! He was a wonderful uncle and I loved him very much. Carl & I had our first taste of moonshine with him and my dad 🙂 This space is too small to express it all. Anyone who knew your dad is a better person because of it....I love you all so much. #familystrong Love to everyone. Patricia, Carl & family

Fran, it doesn't seem like a few short days since his passing but there is certainly real pain and sorrow. I know that it is also true that he remains with us in his eternal life and with his spiritual eyes will be watching us until the day we share his perfect joy of endless happiness. Our tears of mourning are tears of homesickness. Love and prayers, Dick and Doris.
