Edith P. (Briggs) Bonomi, a lifelong resident of Quincy, passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at age 89. A homemaker, she had worked for the Morrisette Post and for 10 years during the 1940’s for SS Couch Co. in No. Quincy. Edith volunteered her help during Quincy elections all through her life and was a member of the Emerald Nuts Card Club.

The beloved wife of the late Roger D. Bonomi, she was the loving mother of Richard D. Bonomi and his wife Jane of Marshfield and Roger Bonomi of Charlestown, dear grandmother of Richard J. and David Bonomi and sister of the late Paul Briggs, William Briggs, Ann Noris and May Burns.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Sept. 7 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass ay St. Mary’s Church, W. Quincy at 10:00am. Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery.
