Edmund J. “Eddie” Miller of Quincy passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at age 66. After serving briefly in the military, he worked as a truck driver and a superintendent at a medical facility. His favorite pastimes included restoring old cars, listening to country music and he never missed his Monday and Friday WWF wrestling. His real passion for the last 30 years was helping others to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. He will be sadly missed by his family and all the men and women who were helped to achieve a second chance in life through his dedication and the example he set.
Eddie is survived by his beloved, Maybelle “Ginger” Rowell-Miller, his stepchildren, Catherine Rowell of Quincy, Allen Rowell and his wife Deborah of Brockton, Alice Elias and Rev. Melissa Rowell and her husband Marc of FL, as well as 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John J. Miller and his stepfather and mother Charles M. and Helen M. (Doucette) Sophis, his sister Mary Doherty and brother Joseph DeNeil.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00 to 7:30pm immediately followed by a Funeral Service at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. Cremation will follow.
